Leadership and Management Fellow Scheme 2025/26

Assessment requirements and engagement expectations of fellows taking part in the scheme

Please review the requirements and expectations below which are necessary for successful completion of the scheme.

If you have any queries, please contact lmfs@rcpsych.ac.uk.

Scheme attendance and engagement expectations

When joining the scheme we want you to take full advantage of the range of learning opportunities.  When attending the online days it really helps everyone to have your camera on and to attend all the day.  Your questions, contributions and reflections make for a richer learning experience for everyone whether at in person or online days for the scheme.

Whilst we aim to be flexible, we don’t record sessions as your participation live creates the unique opportunities to learn from each other and from the speakers bringing their experiences to the LMFS.  Furthermore, we strongly encourage 100% attendance as this enables you to get the most of out what is on offer and it is the LMFS in its entirety which is accredited by the FMLM.

It would also be useful to discuss with your mentor or supervisor what your learning objectives might be prior to joining the scheme.  The FMLM standards, RCPsych ST curricula and GMC guidance on leadership and management are all useful resources for this.  Bringing these objectives to the introductory day in September would be really helpful where we will discuss them further.

Your project

Fellows are asked to undertake a leadership project of strategic or operational significance within their local organisation (your project will not be determined or assessed by the Scheme).  Engage with your organisational mentor, before the start of the Scheme ensure that you schedule meetings with your mentor/relevant local contacts to facilitate your project planning and delivery.  Fellows will need to prepare a recorded presentation about their project at the module taking place on 3 October.
