Apply to take CASC

The next CASC exam is taking place on 15-19 September 2025 in Sheffield, UK and will be a face to face exam. The final date for applying is 3.30pm on Friday 20 June 2025.

In line with the regulations, applicants are strongly advised to apply as early as possible within the application period if they require the exam for career progression. Spaces for the CASC Examination are allocated on a first-come first-served basis, to be determined by when candidates first submit their application and request sponsorship. Please do also bear in mind that applications must be fully completed within the application window (re: payment, sponsorship). If your sponsorship and payment has not been completed by 3.30pm on Friday 20 June 2025, then you will not be considered for this examination.

Deadline for applying

The online form will be available until 3.30pm on Friday 20 June 2025. Applications will not be accepted after the published closing date.

The College does not accept responsibility for delays or computer failures and no allowances will be made for this.

If you can't remember your log-in details

If you cannot remember your log-in details, then please do not set up another account, but instead, contact the membership department at membership@rcpsych.ac.uk.

What happens after you apply

The CASC is held over 5 days and you will be allocated a day. Confirmation of your examination date and times will be detailed in your Admissions Document, which will be sent to you via email at least 6 weeks before the day of the examination. We regret that we are unable to accept any specific date requests and candidates will have to attend on the date they are allocated. However, if there are exceptional circumstances that mean you cannot attend a particular day of the CASC then please let us know by the end of the CASC application period.

Sponsorship

  • The online application form requires candidates to enter a sponsor’s name and email address. Please make sure that the sponsor’s email address is correct. If however you realise that you have entered your sponsor's details incorrectly, or you need to arrange for a different sponsor, then you can change your sponsor's details by logging in and re-opening the CASC Application Form. Please note only one sponsor is required for the CASC. This applies to all candidates including overseas candidates.
  • If the sponsor does not complete the authorisation and the candidate does not complete the application and payment within the application period then they will not be entered into the CASC examination. The College does not accept responsibility for delays or computer failures and no late or incomplete applications will not be accepted under any circumstances.
  • Sponsors will be sent an email with a link to authorise the candidate’s application. Sponsors must ensure that the candidate has provided evidence that they meet the eligibility requirements to sit the CASC examination. Candidates must provide full details of their current post when completing the Online Application Form or the link that the sponsor is sent will not work.
  • Candidates will receive a confirmation email once the sponsor has authorised the application and will be required to complete their application and proceed to payment.

Reasonable Adjustments

Candidates requiring reasonable adjustments at the CASC examination must complete the  by 27 June 2025. 

In the event that requests for separate room and extra time reasonable adjustments exceeds capacity at this examination, allocations will be made on a first come first served basis according to when the completed reasonable adjustment request is received.
