We are delighted to announce that, following the Annual General Meeting of the on 10 February 2025, RCPsych in Wales has been re-elected as Secretariat for the group. Carolyn Thomas MS was also welcomed into the role of vice-chair.
The group, which is co-chaired by Delyth Jewell MS and the Youth Climate Ambassadors for Wales, is now in its 4th year running and is the only Senedd CPG to be co-chaired by young people. It was established to increase understanding of the issues which connect climate and ecological change and wellbeing, and to act as an effective vehicle for change at a local and national level. It does this by bringing together experts, community activists, politicians, and young people. Empowering them to find positive solutions.
Dr Tania Bugelli, Sustainability Champion for RCPsych Wales said:
“The current climate emergency weighs particularly heavily on young people's minds, and eco-anxiety is prevalent especially in this generation. The Cross Party Group is an important forum for young people in particular to discuss these issues and enact real change.
“The College is delighted to continue to play a part in facilitating this group and we have seen some great events and campaigns emerge as a result of conversations which have taken place within it.”
