QNLD events

Information about upcoming and previous QNLD events, such as our special interest days and annual forums, can be found here. 

Throughout the year, the network hosts a range of events to help facilitate peer learning between our members. This year’s events are: 

Our special interest day this year took place on July 8 on the theme, ‘Unlocking Pathways’: Navigating legal challenges to discharge planning?– Collaborative Strategies for Inpatient and Community Learning Disability Teams.

This year's Annual Forum will be taking place on 8 July 2025 at 10am. The theme will be ‘From Insight to Impact: Promoting Excellence in Learning Disability Services’. 

The forum will be in-person at The 免费黑料网 Offices in London.

You can register your interest for this event using this . Once ticket booking is open you will be sent a link to purchase tickets. 

The event is open to all staff at services which are members of QNLD as well as non-members. Tickets for members are priced at ?80 per person, and tickets for non members are priced at ?115 per person.

QNLD 'Bridging the gap: Challenging Inequalities experienced by people with learning disabilities - Annual Forum 2024

The day included presentations around addressing ethnicity-based inequalities, multicultural STOMP, research on positive behavioural support (PBS) and introducing oral health screening in inpatient services, gender diversity in Autistic people, and a talk from experts by experience at one of our member services. QNLD 'Unlocking Pathways: Navigating legal challenges to discharge planning. Collaborative Strategies for Inpatient and Community Learning Disability Teams' Special Interest Day 2024

The day included presentations on collaborative strategies for service delivery in inpatient services, the inpatient journey through research, navigating legal challenges to MHA 1983 discharge planning and an introduction to the Burdette Nursing Discharge Tool. QNLD 'Innovative Care: Exploring Best Practices in Learning Disability Services' Annual Forum 2023

The day included presentations around outcome scales, accessible resources and tools, NHS England updates, medication and blood tests and included topics specific to both inpatient and community teams. More information can be found on the event programme.

QNLD 'Empowering Staff Well-being and Retention' Special Interest Day 2023

The day included presentations on the current status and future of learning disability nursing, sustainability principles and the QNLD standards, rotational posts, using quality improvement to enhance staff wellbeing, and staff wellbeing.

QNLD 'Legal Issues' Special Interest Day 2022

The day included presentations on informed consent to treatment with medication, capacity and sexual relations, executive dysfunction and rights for restricted and conditionally discharged patients delivered by a panel of leading experts. More information can be found on the event programme.

QNLD 'Working with co-morbidities' Annual Forum 2022

The day included presentations on epilepsy and intellectual disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, physical health checks, environmental needs of people with Autism, managing constipation, trauma informed care and advocacy.
