Professor Marianne Van Den Bree (IC25 Keynote Speaker)

Professor Marianne Van Den Bree

Division of Psychological Medicine and Clinical Neurosciences, Cardiff University

Professor van den Bree has a background in psychology, human genetics, and epidemiology. She leads the Rare Genetic Variant Research Programme (ECHO) at Cardiff University. This longitudinal programme studies children and young people with mutations linked to high risk of neurodevelopmental and psychiatric conditions. Participants are recruited through UK Medical Genetics clinics.

She also directs the LIfespan multimorbidity research Collaborative (LINC), an international programme across seven sites studying physical and mental health multimorbidity. LINC has brought together seven large longitudinal population-based cohorts to study the role of genetic and environmental influences on multimorbidity development across the lifespan.
